John Culbertson founded Cardinal Real Estate Partners, LLC after serving as Senior Vice President at Trammell Crow Company and International Airport Centers, an institutional real estate developer of airport cargo facilities owned by a top-five pension fund. He has transaction and development experience both locally and nationally and has worked extensively with private and public clients.

A native Charlottean, John obtained his MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University. He is constantly active in the industry, and has served on many boards, including the North Carolina Turnpike Authority (Chair of Plans and Programming), NAIOP, REBIC, the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization, the Charlotte Regional Roads Committee, the North Carolina Department of Commerce Economic Development Board, and the Charlotte Regional Partnership Board. Robert W. Drayton, CRE, CCIM, SRWA

Robert is currently Senior Development Specialist with Carolinas HealthCare System.  He  previously managed Real Property Asset Management Services for the City of Charlotte and has more than 30 years experience in public and private sector real estate including commercial development, brokerage, site selection, asset management, transaction management, financial analysis and property management.

Prior to joining the City of Charlotte in 1996, Robert worked for several private commercial real estate firms and First Union National Bank (now Wells Fargo) in the Economic Development Development Department.

Robert has a BS in Civil Engineering from NCSU, is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, CCIM Designee with the CCIM Institute and holds the SRWA designation with IRWA.  Robert was a finalist for IRWA’s Frank C. Balfour Professional of the Year award for 2007.

Jimmy Flowers, Head of Real Estate Engagement, CCIM

Abundant Power


A licensed commercial real estate broker in N.C., S.C., GA. and IL, Jimmy Flowers began his real estate career with Childress Klein Properties, focused on marketing and leasing income producing properties for retailers and regional name brands throughout the Southeast. He later co-founded Abundant Power along with Shannon Smith in 2008.  He brings a unique perspective to the Abundant Power value proposition given his real estate expertise and knowledge of the built environment.  

Mr. Flowers was also the managing director of TARIS Real Estate, where he was actively involved in the acquisition and equity sourcing for TARIS Real Estate’s real estate investments. In addition, Mr. Flowers was a partner at Succession Capital Partners, a specialty investment and advisory firm investing in real estate opportunities and operating companies. Presently, he remains an Operating Partner managing SCP’s – Single Tenant Net Lease vehicle. Mr. Flowers was also the Founder and President of Carolina Income Property Group responsible for originating, developing, managing and exiting real estate investments. He was a strategic partner in the development of Morrison Plantation – a 500-acre mixed-use development in Mooresville, NC. He is a member of ULI, BOMA, CoreNet, CRCBR and ICSC, as well as a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), which is a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate.  Mr. Flowers holds a BA in philosophy from Wheaton College and a Master’s of Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Christy Harner, Creative Strategist


Christy has co-founded over 10 companies, including one that sold to a billion dollar company. She has been the Chief Marketing Officer, Creative Principal, and Chief Strategy Officer for many companies, new and established. Over the past 12 years, she has helped to create brand strategies for over a hundred startups, raised over $100 million for her clients, and consulted with many more. Currently, she is a personal consultant for young entrepreneurs and new businesses, as well as the Chief Creative Officer of Enventys Partners.

After working as a consultant for many years, she co-founded Binary Ventures in 2012, which is a digital agency focused on creating brands and developing applications for startups. During that time, she created over 60 companies and personally founded 7. Through her marketing and branding strategies, her clients were able to raise well over a hundred million dollars, win awards, sell their companies, and fulfill their dreams.

Brian Jenest, RLA, Cole Jenest and Stone


Brian co-founded the firm in 1988 and provides company-wide design leadership, working closely to mentor the young designers. He has experience in all aspects of urban design, master plan development, property evaluation, public review and input processes and detailed site design. He is a graduate of the College of Design at North Carolina State University.

Brian has participated in many award-winning projects throughout the southeast and collaborated on numerous successful design competitions. He has led a variety of significant projects including Gateway Village and The Green at Wells Fargo in Uptown Charlotte; Gadsdenboro Park in Charleston; Pack Square Park and New Belgium Brewing Company in Asheville; Carolina Square in Chapel Hill and numerous projects on NC State’s Centennial Campus.

As a Davidson Town Commissioner, Brian has brought a career’s worth of expertise and leadership to Davidson and the surrounding communities with planning, development, transportation and related issues that have contributed significantly to the region’s outstanding quality of life. His collegial approach has been exemplar to other community leaders and has helped foster a spirit of collaboration that has ultimately made the entire region stronger. He is an advocate for transportation solutions as a member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization and has promoted the importance of public transportation especially in the North Corridor of Charlotte.

He co-founded two real estate investment funds with investment committee and board responsibilities while serving as a Managing Director at Columbus Nova. At Columbus Nova, Stephen was a key partner in their financial advisory platform that provided corporate, real estate and financial advisory services to companies, entrepreneurs, financial sponsors and institutional investors. Kerry Singe, Content Strategist


Kerry enjoys turning complicated real estate projects into clear and compelling stories. She helps her clients use blogs, newsletters and other communications to leverage their intellectual capital and distinguish themselves.

Kerry worked for nearly 20 years as an investigative and business reporter for newspapers, developing a unique ability to listen to her clients and help them use their voice. She covered commercial and residential real estate for The Charlotte Observer and edited a blog about development for Business North Carolina magazine. Current projects include magazine articles, broadcast journalism, internal communications, marketing collateral, human resource development and training and blog postings. Mr. Stout has been actively engaged in real estate since 1975, focused on the fields of real estate valuation and consulting as well as development and ownership of investment real estate.
